THOMPSON Doug Born in Keighley in 1940, and died peacefully in Keswick, Cumbria, on 11th June 2024, aged 84. Much loved partner of Gill Ania, father and grandfather, he was (until Covid) long-time organiser, with Gill, of Keighley Boys Grammar School's annual reunions, bringing together 'old boys' from all over the world. His funeral will take place at 11:30 on Tuesday 2nd July at Crosthwaite Church, Keswick (family flowers only). Enquiries c/o F&W Green Funeral Directors. Tel. (017687) 72246.Tributes

I got to know Doug when he was, with Gill, organising the KBGS reunions. Although younger than myself, I like to think that we became firm friends. Pity COVID curtailed the happy reunion events! I for one miss them. And I hardly need to say that I’m so sad to hear of my friends death!
