PICKETT George Richard George of Bentham, passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday 21st July 2024, aged 85 years. Much loved husband of the late Deborah, dear father of Elizabeth & Catherine, admired father-in-law to Rich and adored 'Papa Tractor' to Wren. He was the partner of the late Cora Martin and a good friend to all who knew him. George was Professor of Low Temperature Physics at Lancaster University, where he worked for 54 years. He will be greatly missed by all his family, friends and colleagues around the world. Funeral Service & committal will be held at Beetham Hall Crematorium on Monday 12th August at 2pm.
