Summer play sessions for children are now on offer at a Keighley church.
A variety of groups came together to organise sessions after residents complained about a lack of a safe play area for youngsters.
Indoor and outdoor activities are taking place at Wesley Place Church, in Halifax Road, throughout the summer on Thursday evenings, from 4.30pm to 6pm.
Groups behind the scheme include the Keighley area co-ordinator’s office, Bracken Bank & District Community Association, Manningham Housing, Keighley & Ilkley Voluntary and Community Action and Hainworth Wood Community Centre.
Qualified staff from Bradford Play team, Your Sporting Chance and Eccleshill Adventure Playground are supervising free activities for children aged five to 12.
Community development worker Pip Gibson said: “It’s hoped that following the summer period the sessions will continue to run with the support of volunteers from the local community.
“They will be offered training and support, and prospective volunteers should contact me first.”
