A Keighley man has been awarded a pair of prestigious accolades at an annual gala awards presentation.
Nicholas Bolt, who lives off Fell Lane, was recognised for his “exceptional” commitment and enthusiasm, during the Northern Gas Networks gala awards at Elland Road in Leeds. He picked up the Gordon Waters Overall Apprentice of the Year award, and was also the 2010 Apprentice of the Year, which honours the top Northern Gas Networks apprentice from each annual intake.
Mr Bolt, 21, a former pupil of Holy Family Catholic School in Keighley, is due to complete his three-year apprenticeship this September. He has been training in how to fix gas leaks.
He said: “I feel like all my hard work has paid off – it’s been well worth it.”
Northern Gas Networks director of academy and talent management Gareth Bullen said: “The awards recognise and celebrate teams and individuals like Nick from across the company who live and breathe our core values – personal integrity, personal commitment and personal drive.
“We believe strongly in nurturing our talented young employees, supporting them in their learning and development and providing opportunities for them to showcase their ideas and skills.”
