More opportunities have been made available for people to sign up to Craven’s Dog Watch scheme.
The initiative operates on a similar basis to Neighbourhood Watch, but with the onus on dog owners to report suspicious behaviour while out walking.
“As dog walkers tend to be out and about early mornings and late evenings, whilst other people are indoors, they are more likely to see or hear things relating to crime,” said police community support officer, Sarah Hargreaves.
Dog walkers can sign up for the scheme – funded by Craven Community Safety Partnership and supported by Craven District Council – on August 23.
The team will be at Cowling Park from 9.20am to 9.40am; Hawthorns/Glusburn, 9.45am to 10am; Sutton Park, 10.10am to 10.30am; Glusburn Park, 10.45am to 11am; Cononley, 11.20am to 11.40am and Bradley, noon to 12.30pm.
