In relation to this weekend’s Keighley Gala, once when the horse and cart was used to convey foods and other articles to Haworth Co-op shops, it then transported the children of local members to the annual Co-op gala in the Bronte Rovers football field below Jaggers Quarry.
After clearing all the stones, the results of blasting, it was marked out for racing. Entertainment was provided.
Prizes displayed in the drapery shop window over several days were eagerly looked at, with people contemplating what they deserved if they won.
