If not you missed a magical day. Around 3,000 people attended to enjoy the story-tellers weaving their magic, the stalls selling their wares and the many entertainers. Music was provided by Ben Blue Water, Spencer, Charlotte and Jonathon and Haworth Ukulele Group, and there was also juggling and a fire-eating demonstration. The entertainers give their services free to support the Friends of Holden Park in their efforts to make the park an even better place to visit. The Keighley branch of the Royal British Legion were there selling their wares for the Poppy Appeal, supported by the Riders Branch who came along on their motorbikes. Alongside them were Keighley Sea Scouts, who not only came along to promote their branch and raise money, but also helped out with setting-up and dismantling the event. Pony rides and picnics were also enjoyed by families. Winners of the fancy dress competition were Preston, Maesy Kitchen, Larina York and Lucy with her fairy dog Tia. Winners of the drawing competition were Albie Smith, Lucy Capstick, Romilie Share and Lorina York. Sophie Matthew won the ‘guess the fairies’ competition. The Friends of Holden Park would like to thank Keighley & Worth Valley Railway who transported fairies for half-fare, Keighley bus museum who transported visitors to the event free of charge and everyone who gave up their time and talents to make it the best event yet.
