Wilsden Primary School has been praised for its part in the battle against drugs.
It was among eight primary schools – plus a pupil referral unit – from across the district to receive a prestigious Bradford Schools Drug Prevention Initiative Charter Award.
The presentation ceremony in Bradford was attended by guests, including West Yorkshire Chief Constable Mark Gilmore, Crime Commissioner Mark Burns-Williamson and the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Keighley councillor Khadim Hussain.
The Honorary Recorder of Bradford, Roger Thomas QC; Bradford Council’s children’s services director, Kath Tunstall, and Airedale and North Bradford Divisional Commander Chief Super-intendent, Angela Williams, were also there.
Annaliese Emmerson, project officer for Bradford District Police, said: “The drugs prevention charter itself is now in its 18th year, and the fact it has reached such a milestone reflects the support and value it continues to hold among schools across the district.”
