Holy Catholic School students tied themselves in knots learning about new hi-tech bus passes.

Public transport agency Metro invited them to play a giant Twister-style game to learn about the Young Person’s PhotoCard.

The smartcard provides 11 to 16-year-olds with half-fare bus and train travel throughout West Yorkshire.

Metro is encouraging existing cardholders to apply for the cards free of charge at wymetro.com.

All applications will be entered into a prize draw to win an iPad, and PhotoCards will be processed and posted out within ten days of application.

Applicants can still go to bus station travel centres for a Young Person’s PhotoCard, along with proof of age such as a passport or birth certificate. Their photograph will be taken at the Travel Centre.

The next stage of the campaign will be smartcard ticketing, when cardholders can load fare payments on to their PhotoCard’s chip then swipe the machine on certain buses.
