Chuffed volunteers on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway (K&WVR) received a top award this week.
The five-mile line was presented with a Heritage Railway Association publicity prize.
Association president, Lord Faulkner of Worcester, visited the K&WVR on Monday to present the accolade. He was accompanied by Clifford Jones, who headed the judging panel.
Invited guests travelled on a steam-hauled 100-year-old Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Club Carriage.
Mr Jones said: “There are a lot of competitors for this award and the standards are exceptionally good, so for the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway to win is an absolute pinnacle.
“Winning the award is not easy. To be successful, the railway had to present clear, precise and accurate information well. Its Railway Children advertising has been superb.”
The award recognised the K&WVR book, The Making of The Railway Children.
The classic 1970 movie version of the Edith Nesbit tale was filmed on the Worth Valley line and catapulted the railway to international stardom.
K&WVR chairman, Dr Matt Stroh, said: “It’s great to receive recognition from such an august organisation as the Heritage Railway Association. We’re delighted.”
