Life will be a beach for Cross Hills Co-op staff tomorrow.
They are dressing-up for an in-store beach party to raise money for the Carers Trust, the Co-op’s charity of the year.
Muhammad Walli, manager at the Main Street outlet, said overall the company aimed to raise £5 million during 2013.
Funds will help pay for schemes such as Time Out, which provides young carers with residential breaks.
Mr Walli added: “We hope all our customers will visit the store on Friday to join in the beach-themed fun.
“It’s great to think that while we’re creating a holiday atmosphere in store, we’ll be raising funds to provide much-needed breaks for young carers across the UK.
“We’re determined to keep the fund-raising momentum going, and are planning more events before the year is out.”
