Keighley-district students are celebrating outstanding A-level results at Craven College.

Tasmeah Zain, from Keighley, achieved an A* in government and politics and As in psychology and philosophy.

She will now study psychology at York University.

Her tutor, Ismail Ali, said: “Tasmeah has been a model student.

“She always questions and challenges ideas and concepts, and has been very supportive of others. Her success is very well deserved.”

Samantha Green (left), from Steeton, earned an A grade in AS sociology and Bs in AS biology and psychology.

She intends to complete her A-levels and other studies at Salford University before pursuing a career in nursing.

“I left a job in the travel industry to come to Craven College – it has definitely been worth it!” she said.

Laura Wiggins, a former pupil at Parkside School at Cullingworth, gained an A* in chemistry, an A in sociology and C in psychology.

She will now study environmental science at Manchester University.
