People fighting back against drug and alcohol addiction have been helping to put together a video exploring their experiences of recovery.
The group, who have all been helped by Keighley charity Project 6, were supervised by freelance videographer Danny Hardaker, who has been leading twice-weekly video and creative writing workshops at the charity’s base.
The first of these sessions was on August 12 and the last is due to take place tomorrow. “I’ve been working with a group of five people and they’ve all really connected with the project,” he said.
“At first, I wasn’t sure how popular it would be, but this has been just the right number of people involved and they’ve been very interested in discovering the different ways they can get their messages across. One of the service users had written quite a bit of poetry, so we’ve included that in the filming.
“I’ve worked with Project 6 before, and I’m passionate about the subject of recovery and about changing stereotypes.”
Mr Hardaker, 28, who lives in Haworth, said he would edit the video material together into a short film, which will be screened for Project 6 volunteers on September 11.
