Police are seeking information about the theft of Yorkshire stone taken from the tops of walls in the Cross Hills area.
Investigating officer PC James Dykes said thieves struck in Boundary Avenue outside a number of houses, and also at one address each in North Road and Bent Lane.
“They would have needed a vehicle of some kind, at the least a Ford Transit,” he added.
People who witnessed anything suspicious in the streets overnight on August 19-20, should call 101 and ask to speak to PC Dykes.
