RE the Keighley News article – Fury over cab rules (August 15).
What does Central Labour councillor Abid Hussain know about the taxi business? He should stick to politics and leave it to the people who know. Off-the-cuff political soundbites miss the point.
I am often appalled by young drivers. They are guilty of driving without due care and attention all day long. They never use their indicators because they’ve always got a mobile in their hand. Other people’s safety is the last thing on their minds. Count the number of hit-and-runs.
There is a general unhelpful attitude. I’m comfortable sitting in my car on my mobile. Help yourself to open the boot and lift your pram in and ten bags of shopping.
There is a list of rules and regulations issued by Bradford Council. If four out of ten random checks on taxis find faults, why are politicians in favour of lowering standards?
New, warranted cars with experienced drivers make elderly, vulnerable ladies feel safe and comfortable.
