South Craven traffic issues, pedestrian safety and health centre services will be among the topics for debate at a meeting in Cross Hills next month.
North Yorkshire County Council’s (NYCC) Craven Area Committee meets at the St Peter’s Church school rooms at 10am on September 12.
Top of the agenda will be highways matters, including the strategic routes from West Yorkshire into Lancashire – such as the A6068 and A56.
Those present will include council bosses from Lancashire and West and North Yorkshire, together with a senior government highways officer for the area.
Also up for discussion will be the Government’s funding and management system for health care, now being run by the Practice Base Commissioning Group.
Sutton resident Roger Nicholson, a voluntary sector representative on the Craven Area Committee, said: “NYCC has set up a statutory Health Watch organisation to monitor the provision of services by our health centres, which will include listening to patients’ concerns. This will include lack of podiatry and other issues that may arise.”
