South Craven householders and businesses are being urged to gear up for next year’s Tour de France.
The Grand Depart of the world-famous cycle race will pass through the district on July 5.
And the following day the route takes in Silsden, Steeton, Keighley, Haworth, Stanbury and Oxenhope.
Craven Council is running several workshops to help people plan for the race and to maximise opportunities.
Councillor Simon Myers, the council’s lead member for the Tour de France, said: “We are committed to ensuring residents and businesses make the most of the opportunities the Tour will provide.
“This is a fantastic chance for Craven to showcase what a lovely part of the world we live in. These workshops will offer people the information and guidance they will need to take part in this once-in-a-lifetime event.”
The first workshop – at the council offices in Belle Vue Square, Skipton, at 6pm on September 5 – will focus on planning an event, such as a street party or mini festival. It will include the launch of a new event management guide and information on applying for funding.
Entry is free but by ticket only. Visit craventourdefrance.eventbrite.co.uk for details.
