On Sunday, September 1, at 10.30am morning worship will be held at Riddlesden United Reformed Church, led by the Reverend Fred Rich; 6pm Riddlesden United Reformed Church and Trinity Church, Fell Lane, shared service, at Trinity.

Monday: 10.30am, exercise class at Riddlesden United Reformed Church.

Tuesday: 7pm, Keighley and District Photographic Association meets at Riddlesden United Reformed Church.

Wednesday: noon, Luncheon Club at Riddlesden United Reformed Church.

Morton Women’s Institute held its August meeting in the Congregational Chapel as the institute was being redecorated. Some 24 members and three visitors were welcomed, and everyone was thanked for the plentiful supply of cakes for refreshments at Morton Gala. Further cakes were needed for the Morton Meet that week, and volunteers for the September 19 meet. The WI diaries had been received and would be brought to the next meeting, and those who had visited Newby Hall had had an enjoyable day. The branch has entered a team for the Federation Quiz. Various lists were circulated, including the fashion show at Haworth on September 18, and a meal at the Busfeild Arms on Tuesday, November 19. Members had been asked if they wished the Carol Service to continue, which they did, and it will be held on December 12 at Newsholme Church as usual. The speaker, Patti Gold, gave an entertaining look at her life in showbiz. The next meeting is Tuesday, September 10, in Morton Institute at 7.20pm, when Teresa Clements will give a presentation about tulips.

Services this week at St Mary’s: Sunday, September 1, 8am BCP Holy Communion, 9.30am family service and 6.30pm Lord’s Supper. On Tuesday at 7pm there is an evening prayer.
