Plans for new housing in Silsden have been refused because they would be too “suburban” for the surrounding area.
Bradford Council gave permission in 2012 for D Clayton to build two detached houses at Croft House Farm in Bolton Road. But earlier this year, before work had started on the properties, Mr Clayton applied to build three large family homes on the site instead.
This latest application was refused on Friday, with planning officer, Paul Verity, saying: “In my opinion, the scale and density is more suited to a suburban area, where plot sizes for larger properties tend to be smaller, as opposed to this location which has a more rural character and sense of place.”
