Jazz queen Clare Teal was among performers who helped launch the national Special Olympics in Bath last week.
The singer, from Kildwick, performed on an open-air stage in front of thousands of athletes and families.
Amongst the crowd were several athletes with learning disabilities from Keighley, who were part of the Yorkshire and Humber squad.
They spent four days competing in a range of sports, including swimming, running, shot putt and gymnastics.
Clare’s performance – on the same stage as X Factor star Susan Boyle – came less than a week after she performed in Ilkley. Clare was on stage at the King’s Hall alongside James Brown’s former saxophonist, Pee Wee Ellis, and Halifax singer AJ Brown.
Clare came to prominence several years ago when she landed a major deal with Sony, and since then she has released several albums and become a popular BBC radio presenter.
She set up her own record label, Mud Records, in 2011 giving her more autonomy over her choice of music.
Clare will tour the UK throughout the autumn, taking a break in October to record an album with Pee Wee Ellis.
