A pastel work being auctioned to raise money for a children’s hospice failed to sell.
Sealed bids of at least £1,500 were being invited for the framed picture, of the Leeds-Liverpool Canal at Crossflatts.
It was produced by highly-acclaimed Haworth artist, John Mackie.
The pastel was being auctioned at art dealers McTague of Harrogate, in aid of the Forget Me Not hospice in Huddersfield.
Mr Mackie’s agent, Fiona Cartwright, said: “I think there were one or two factors for the pastel not selling – the market is slow at the moment.”
