Historic three-wheeled cars – among the first motorised vehicles ever made – could be seen in Haworth as part of the village’s first Steampunk weekend.
Organisers believe the quirky Benz Motorwagen, which was invented in 1885, would prove a popular attraction for visitors.
They hope to persuade owners of replica Benz Motowagens to take them out of storage for an indoor display.
Steampunk is based around the concept of science fiction set in the past, and features fashion and technology from the Victorian era.
Andy Kissack, one of the organisers of the November 22/23 event, said the Motorwagen would fit the style perfectly.
He added: “The Benz Motorwagen would be absolutely thrilling. The Steampunk people we’ve spoken to were gobsmacked about the possibility – they are the perfect replica.
“There are three that are known to be in the area, and we’re trying to get their owners to come. Because they are worth a lot of money, people don’t want them outside.
“It’s in the early stages but looking positive.”
The Benz, regarded as the world’s first automobile, could be just one of several types of vintage vehicles on display during the weekend.
Mr Kissack, who works as a bodywork repairer, has already secured a vintage car from a vehicle hire company where he works regularly.
Horsfield and Son, of Halifax, will supply an open-top Rolls-Royce from the 1920s, a type of vehicle often used by Steampunk fans for their weddings.
Mr Kissack also hopes to find a 1904 Panard, similar to the kind of vehicle used by Mr Toad in Wind In The Willows.
The Steampunk event aims to attract both enthusiasts and members of the public with a range of attractions.
