A meeting may soon be held to discuss how to regulate parking in Haworth’s Main Street.
Worth Valley district councillor Rebecca Poulsen said she understood a senior Bradford highways officer is willing to meet parish councillors and traders to try and reach some agreement.
The historic street has been without double yellow lines since its setts were repaired and relayed, and as reported in the Keighley News last month, councillors have warned this has led to some motorists obstructing the road with parked vehicles.
Speaking at a Haworth, Cross Roads and Stanbury Parish Council meeting on Monday, Coun Poulsen said: “The highways department is willing to come to an open meeting to look at the options.
“They’re not desperate to have lines put down again, they just want something people are happy with. If anything is decided, it probably won’t please everyone, but all we can do is be open and transparent in the decision making.”
