The morning service at Long Lee Methodist Chapel on Sunday was led by Mr David Varley. The service was based on the Book Of Hebrews and was about being content with what we have and not being envious of others. In the evening there was a musical evening with the Rev Alan Raine and was about Cliffe College choruses. At St Barnabas Parish Church Leah Buffey was baptised by the Rev Jonathan Pritchard and he was also the celebrant at the said holy communion service and he preached on how the forgiveness of God should flow through us to embrace everyone we meet. He was also the celebrant at the later sung parish communion. Readers were Billy Clayton, Ian Dodsworth and Doreen Godfrey. There was time for the lighting of votive candles and Carl Pybus administered the chalice. Jonathan preached on violence leading to more violence and how we all need to work for understanding between people of all cultures. Edna Huggett played the piano to accompany the service. In the evening a new series of guest services commenced with the Rev John Imeson as the guest speaker and Rod Tickner as leader of the service.
