Subjects of some of the artwork created by Keighley school pupils came to see their portraits on display at an annual exhibition.
The event took place at Oakbank School. It included an oil painting of a Keighley army veteran created by Robyn Nichol, and a mixed media work produced by Katie Dowson, which portrayed people at the gym she attends.
Robyn has just left Oakbank’s year 13 and will begin a course at Leeds College of Art this month. Katie, who has also left Oakbank, will start a course at Bradford College of Art.
Oakbank head of art Helen Ellwood described the standard of the work at the exhibition as “excellent”.
She added: “Year on year we have a higher than national average A-C grade rate for art. The students have produced extremely good work, and we do get lots of A grades.”
Hundreds of examples of the art produced by dozens of Oakbank students were put on display for pupils, parents and friends to appreciate.
Most of the art was created by GCSE students and sixth-formers, though some work by talented younger students was also exhibited.
