Kildwick Church of England Primary School knocked the competition into touch at the Craven inter-primary schools rounders final.
They beat off challenges from Settle, Gargrave and Boyle and Petyt at Beamsley to take the title. Ewan Johnston (pictured, above, hitting the ball) and his cheering team-mates were too hot to handle.
“We are very proud of the children,” said Kildwick headteacher Debbie Cooksey. “Their effort and teamwork was fantastic, and we are delighted with the result.”
The final was staged at South Craven School in Cross Hills, and the runners-up were Settle. About 50 children were involved in the contest.
