Cold, blustery conditions did not spoil the fun at this year’s Bradley Family Show Day.
Villagers turned out in force at Bradley playing fields for an afternoon of entertainment, which included an opening procession, a brass band from Earby, fell races, tug-of-war and bouncy castles.
Members of the Haworth Home Guard re-enactment group attended Sunday’s event for the first time, and there was also food, refreshments, vintage tractors and motorbikes.
Roger Ingham sold ice creams and provided lively commentary for the fell races, which featured a record number of entrants.
Eight-year-old Freya Hampshire took centre stage as this year’s show queen, and was attended by six-year-olds Georgina Blandford and Iris Conroy.
Organising committee member, Andrew Symonds, said: “It went extremely well and was very well attended despite the weather conditions.
“The cold meant the hot-dogs went down very well. It was definitely a day for warm fleeces and teas rather than ice creams and shorts!
“We had a lot of offers of support from all sorts of groups, and I want to thank everyone who helped us out. Our local sponsors have been very loyal, and we wouldn’t have had a show without them.”
