A Keighley allotment project could reap a £500 grant.
Branching Out, an eco-gardening initiative for people with dementia and disabilities, is bidding for a donation from the Skipton Building Society Grassroots Giving campaign. The cash would be used to build 10 raised beds.
A spokesman said: “The project is unique in that it includes workshop areas, a poly-tunnel and indoor and outdoor planting areas. The objective is to tackle isolation and improve the wellbeing and fitness of older people through skill-sharing.
“The allotment shares produce with local charities and community cafes in exchange for home baking, crafts and volunteer time.”
Branching Out is among nearly 1,000 groups and schemes which applied for funding from the campaign.
A shortlist has been drawn up and the public is now being asked to vote for its favourite.
