Cycling during the 50s in Keighley will be highlighted at a Heritage Open Day on Saturday at Keighley library.

It will be among subjects showcased by local groups in history displays at the upstairs Local Studies Library.

Taking part will be Keighley and District Local and Family History Societies, Cowling History Group, Keighley’s Masonic Lodge, Phoenix Special School, and Silsden’s Swartha Wood Heritage Project.

Keighley Heritage Group will exhibit photographs celebrating Keighley’s manufacturing past. Visitors can bring along images to be copied on the day.

There will be displays about the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway, the opening of Guard House and Bracken Bank schools, and local people who served in the world wars.

Library staff will help people wishing to research their family history, during the free event from 10am to 4pm.
