Keighley Labour party – together with the town’s Trades Council and district councillors – staged a stall on Saturday in support of the living wage campaign. People were invited to sign a petition.
Spokesman Henri Murison said: “Most of the many people who stopped to talk to us were low-paid workers, struggling on a daily basis to survive. It is clear the government has not understood the severe hardship that those paid less than a living wage and on zero hours contracts suffer and the damage to individuals, families and communities this causes."
The stall was staged at Keighley Show.
