A group for local stamp enthusiasts has folded due to a lack of members.
Members of Keighley Philatelic Society agreed to halt their activities last Thursday.
Spokesman Reg Hindley, who lives in Oxenhope, explained: “The last six members agreed unanimously that the group’s numbers and the consequential cost of renting premises made the costs of survival impossible.
“The society’s trivial remaining funds will be donated to a local charity.”
He added that a founder member of the society understood that the group began in the mid-1980s and used to meet in the “tin tab” chapel at Beechcliffe, before later moving to Keighley College.
Mr Hindley added: “Like many small organisations, it has had to admit that existence does not come free, and long-term reliance on outside help is neither fair nor viable.”
He expressed his thanks to everyone who had supported the society over the years, and said if anyone was interested in trying to revive the group they could contact him on 01535 643087.
