Bosses at a Keighley mobility firm are out to prove their entrepreneurial skills – and boost Manorlands’ coffers

Fenetic Wellbeing has signed up for the Manorlands Diamond Geezer initiative, in which firms are given £60 and challenged to increase it by as much as possible.

Tom Appelbee and Graeme Firth, former schoolmates at Oakbank in Keighley, launched Fenetic Wellbeing – which sells healthcare equipment – in late 2009 after they had both suffered redundancy.

Earlier this year the firm scooped three top awards – including the coveted overall Business of the Year accolade – at the first-ever Keighley Business Awards, which were backed by the Keighley News.

Manorlands fundraiser Andrew Wood has visited Fenetic Wellbeing’s Ingrow premises to hand over the £60, which equates to £1 for every year of the Sue Ryder charity’s existence.

He said: “I’m sure Tom and Graeme will do well, as they clearly have a great entrepreneurial spirit, and we are looking forward to seeing what they come up with.

“This is fundraising where the emphasis is on fun and raising profiles of organisations.”

Mr Appelbee said they were delighted to be involved in the challenge.

“As business owners this is the kind of challenge that appeals to us and it is all for a great cause,” he said.

“Graeme has already started to make some moves which people can track on our website, feneticwellbeing.com, and we are excited to see what Fenetic and Manorlands can achieve together.”
