Fewer people than hoped for attended a public meeting in Cowling to discuss plans to refurbish the village recreation ground.
But organisers say the feedback provided by those who did turn up was positive.
“Considering the amount of advertising carried out in advance of the meeting, it was a very low turnout – just 15 people – but there was a good response from those present and some good ideas were put forward,” said Andrew Mallinson, the parish clerk and chairman of an interim group looking at the recreation ground.
The meeting was held last Tuesday evening at St Andrew’s Methodist Church.
“There are still discussions to be had and I am obtaining prices from different companies for equipment,” added Mr Mallinson.
“When I have that information we will look to hold another public meeting and consider the priorities.”
Current play equipment at the site is dated and some has had to be removed for safety reasons.
Plans include new items – with some, such as a zip wire, for older children – and a multi-use games area.
Also, desperately-needed allotments could be provided on the land.
