Haworth Parish Council has objected to plans to build houses on land behind a social club, because it believes the site is allocated for allotments.
Morley-based Broadstone Properties wants to build five terrace houses on a patch of field behind Parkside Social Club on Butt Lane.
In a planning application to Bradford Council, they point out that in 2010 permission was given to build a single house on the land, but because of costs this house is “unlikely to ever be built”.
Haworth Parish Council has objected to the application, saying: “We believe that this land is designated allotment land. The council cannot find any record of the status of this land being changed and would object to any change, as allotment land is urgently required.”
Bradford Council will decide on the application in the coming weeks.
