Ann Jay invites you to a coffee morning in aid of the Shared Church window fund this Saturday, from 10am to noon, at 31 Westhill Avenue, Cullingworth. There will be a bring and buy stall, raffle and coffee with cakes and biscuits.
Morning service at the Shared Church on Sunday will be led by Chris Wilcock and begins at 10.30am.
The cricket season ends this weekend. Our first team is away to Barrowford and our 2nd XI is at home to Gargrave. This is the last chance to enjoy the now famous home-made sandwiches in the tea tent. Match ball sponsors are Mrs Jean Greenwood and Mr and Mrs D Hunter.
Babes & Tots has restarted at the Shared Church each Friday from 1-3pm and runs until the autumn break.
St Paul’s Wives Group has a meeting on Wednesday at 7.30pm at the Mechanics’ Institute. There will be a talk entitled “History of an Edwardian Mill Girl”.
This Saturday from 8-11pm there will be a barn dance upstairs in the Mechanics’ Institute, organised by Denholme Community Association. Tickets are £3, accompanied children free, and they are available from Denholme Post Office until 11.45am on Saturday or phone (01274) 833521. Snacks and non-alcoholic drinks will be available, or bring your own.
There will be a sponsored walk in aid of the Mpika charity, which is run by volunteers in the village, on Saturday, September 21. Please meet outside the shop for 9am. The route is 16 miles around the village hills and dales. Transport will be available if you tire after five or ten miles.
