A fire in the cellar of an empty Keighley property led to firefighters from Keighley and Bingley being called out last night.
They received calls at 11.45pm alerting them to a blaze in a terraced house in Minnie Street, Knowle Park.
When they arrived they found that a pile of rubbish in the building’s cellar was on fire.
Two firefighters in breathing gear entered to put out the flames, and remained at the scene for around an hour.
No damage was caused to any neighbouring properties.
Keighley station crew commander Darren Creighton said the cause of the fire was still under investigation.
“The fire was in a rental property which is vacant at the moment,” he added.
