Up to 90 per cent of schools across the district could close on October 1 if a strike by two of the biggest teaching unions goes ahead.
The strikes are the latest move in the campaign by the National Union of Teachers and the NASUWT over government education reforms.
Members in the East Midlands, West Midlands, Yorkshire and Humberside and the Eastern region will take part in the walkout over pay, pensions and workloads, the unions have announced.
Ian Murch, branch secretary of the NUT locally, said: “This will close most of the schools because it is the two biggest teaching unions taking part.
“The government wants to raise the retirement age to 68 and we have now had four years of a pay freeze.
“The NUT has 3,100 members in Bradford district and the NASUWT has a large number.
“The overwhelming majority of teachers are in these two unions.”
