A Keighley dog owner has set up an anti-dog fouling initiative in Keighley after hearing of its success elsewhere.
Jane Hudson persuaded Bradford Council to provide more than £2,000 to get the Green Dog Walkers scheme off the ground.
She is now calling for local businesses to donate so the scheme can expand.
Green Dog Walkers wear green armbands and their dogs a green collar, and they carry extra bags to give to dog owners who have not taken one themselves. The scheme was launched in Glusburn and Sutton during the summer after Craven Council bought the £500 licence.
Jane, of Beechliffe, asked Bradford Council to buy a licence to run it , as well as provide cash for bags and publicity.
She said she had been looking around for a long time for a scheme to tackle dog owners who did not take their pet’s mess home.
She said: “It's their dogs, they feed them, it's up to them to clean up afterwards. The more people we can get on board and more sponsorship, the more we can get this over Bradford.”
