The owner of a Denholme cafe is appealing against Bradford Council’s decision to deny her permission to turn it into a takeaway.
Lisa Hardy wanted to turn Granny Hardy’s Kitchen, in Station Road, into a takeaway that would open until 11pm, submitting a change of use application earlier this year.
Planning officers argued that there was not enough information about ventilation included in the application and that a takeaway could be detrimental to neighbours.
The application was refused in May, but Miss Hardy has now lodged an appeal with the Secretary of State, claiming that council planning officers didn’t do enough to help her with the application.
