People are being urged to put their best foot forward for Manorlands.
A countryside ramble, first held seven years ago, is again being staged in aid of the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice.
The organising team is spearheaded by Peter Bashforth, whose late daughter Ruth Jagger was cared for at Manorlands and who was the inspiration behind the inaugural event.
There will be three walks on offer next Saturday, September 28, all starting and finishing at Harden Cricket Club.
Routes will cover five, 10 and 16 miles. Detailed descriptions will be provided and the short course will be waymarked.
Walkers can start anytime after 9am but no later than 10am for the long route, noon for the 10-miler and 2pm for the short walk.
Entry is free, but a donation or sponsorship would be appreciated.
Dogs under control are welcome and drinks and light refreshments will be provided at the finish.
Carly Brunskill, regional fundraiser at Manorlands, said: “We really hope lots of people come along and get involved.
“It costs £2.7 million each year to provide care at, and from, the hospice. We need to raise a minimum of £1.6 million of that in donations and voluntary income.
“Living with an incurable illness is difficult and losing a loved one can be unbearable.
“An ageing population and hard-hitting government cuts mean that we need your support more than ever.
“Please give whatever you can afford – just £7.80 pays for one hour of incredible care.”
