Manorlands fundraising has hit a high note.
The Oxenhope hospice has received a £220 cheque from the Flattnotes Choir Group.
A concert at the group’s Crossflatts Cricket Club meeting place raised £190, with the remainder being donated on the night by Gilstead Ladies.
Carly Brunskill, regional fundraiser at Manorlands, said: “What was planned as a small gathering turned out to be a really successful night, raising enough funds to cover the cost of two seven-hour day shifts for a nurse. This is a great example of how a simple event can raise a fabulous amount and it really does help us to continue the services at Manorlands hospice.”
The choir welcomes new members. It meets alternate Mondays, at the cricket club, from 6.30pm to 8pm, and covers a range of music, from rock and pop to African songs.
The next meeting is on September 30.
