St James’ Church, Cross Roads, is hosting another of its popular Soup & Sandwich Social lunches on Saturday from 11.30am until 1.30pm. There will also be a bring and buy stall as well as cakes and hot and cold drinks.
The fantastic annual Bronte Mountain Bike Challenge in aid of the Sue Ryder charity takes place on Sunday and all routes start at Oxenhope Recreation Ground. There are routes to suit most cyclists, from families to committed athletes. The three routes are names after the Bronte sisters – Anne is 11 miles, Emily is 23 miles and Charlotte is 27 miles. The Haworth, Cross Roads & Stanbury Parish Council has a planning committee meeting on Monday at West Lane Baptist Church, Haworth, 7pm. All are welcome.
The Worth Valley Horticultural Society have organised a late flower and vegetable show for Sunday, September 29 from 2-4.15pm. Events will also be held at Haworth Community Centre, Butt Lane, and entries will be taken until 11am on the show day.
This coming Sunday there will be no 10.30am service at the Lees Methodist Church, but there will be the ever popular Cafe Church at 1pm. This more informal service will be led by the Rev Ruth Crompton, the new circuit superintendent minister. All are welcome.
