Tickets for a live Haley Sisters concert at the Mechanics’ Institute on Saturday, October 19 will be on sale from next Monday – adults £5, U16s £3 – from Denholme Post Office or phone (01274) 833086 or 833521.

The Rural Crafters are having a fabric sale on Thursday, October 3 from 1-4pm at the Mechanics’ Institute. This will be all cotton fabric, ideal for quilting or sewing projects.

Liz Beaumont, who works at the village Co-op, will skydive in Bridlington on Saturday along with her two sons, brother and other family members. They will raise funds for various causes. Liz will donate the money she raises to the windows fund at Denholme Shared Church.

Denholme Neighbourhood Forum takes place next Thursday, September 26 at 7pm in the Mechanics’ Institute. There will be a welcome and introduction, partners and community together meeting, Bradford youth services, Denholme Town Council, local groups’ updates and an open forum.

The Tots & Babes group have now restarted at the Shared Church on Fridays from 1-3pm for crafts, games and refreshments. All mums, dads and carers are welcome.

On Sunday there will be a service of holy communion at the Shared Church, led by the Rev Suzy McCarter, at 10.30am.

There will be a sponsored walk in aid of the Mpika charity, which is run by volunteers in the village, this Saturday. Please meet outside the shop at 9am. The walk is 16 miles around the village. Transport will be available if you tire after five or ten miles.
