At a recent meeting of the Friends of Holden Park group it was agreed that one final attempt would be made to raise interest from other groups within the village in helping to stage the Halloween event. We are looking for support from other groups in creating new displays and/or coming up with new ideas for this event as there are just too few members of our group to stage it alone. If no help is forthcoming then I am afraid that it will have to be cancelled, so please give it some thought and try to spare a little time to help with this popular event. Any group or individual who is willing to get involved can contact the secretary on andrew.wiseman@blueyonder.co.uk or ring 07972 727269. We are hoping to hear from you before the end of September. Please give us your support and brighten up the winter months for everyone in the village.

Concerns were raised about metal theft in the Lidget area and we were advised to look out for a red Ford Sierra and a black Peugeot 206 in relation to this. There has also been an incidence of theft of paving stones in the Dock Royd area, please watch out for a dirty white pick-up in relation to this.
A problem had previously been raised about trees that need cutting back in the small car park in Chapel Lane but no-one seems to be sure who is the owner of this piece of land, so if you have any information on this please ring 07972 727269 or contact myself on the e-mail address above and I will pass on your information and/or contact details to the appropriate person.
