A Cross Hills bar has made it into the latest edition of an annual guide to good beer and pubs, despite currently only opening one day a week.

Naylor’s Brewery Beer Emporium, which opens from 3pm to 11pm on Fridays, is a new entry in the Good Beer Guide 2014.

A spokesman for Naylor’s Brewery said staff were “over the moon” to have won the recognition in the guide, which also mentions the brewery’s shop.

The 2014 publication includes the Turkey Inn, at Goose Eye, which is featured in the guide again after several years’ absence.

The book is published by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), and is revised and updated each year with input from more than 150,000 CAMRA members from across the country.

A Keighley and Craven CAMRA spokesman said the branch was given a maximum allocation of pubs to submit to this year’s guide, with branch members voting for the places they considered to have the most consistently good quality real ale.

The guide is available to buy as a hard copy book or an e-book from camra.org.uk/gbg or at the Keighley Beer Festival from September 26 to 28. It is available while stocks last.

l The rarely seen Timothy Taylor Havercake ale is now available for a limited period and will be on offer at Keighley Beer Festival.

It was first brewed to celebrate the tercentenary of the Duke of Wellington's Regiment, now the 3rd Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment, which has recruited heavily from the Keighley area.
