A Keighley pub is backing a national campaign to slash VAT levels within its industry.
The Livery Rooms is taking part in Tax Parity Day on Wednesday, when the price of food and drink will be cut for the day by 7.5 per cent.
Emma Slater, manager at the North Street Wetherspoon pub, said: “We are proud to support the campaign and are keen to highlight the amount customers would save if VAT in pubs was lowered.”
Wetherspoon said currently all food and drink in pubs was subject to 20 per cent VAT, in contrast to supermarkets which benefited from a zero VAT rate.
