Keighley Town Council members will tonight decide on a proposal to set up a complaints and grievance panel.
The resolution has been put forward by Councillor Gary Pedley and is being backed by Coun Judith Brooksbank.
They are recommending the group would be formed of five councillors, and would be responsible for considering both complaints made against councillors by members of the public and those between elected members.
These matters currently have to go before the council’s management and staffing committee.
Coun Pedley said if the proposal is approved, any town councillor could be eligible to stand for the new panel, not just the heads of committees.
The council meets in Keighley Town Hall at 6.30pm this evening.
