A district councillor has welcomed plans to paint double yellow lines on several roads in the Thornhill Road area of Steeton.
Andrew Mallinson hopes the new waiting restrictions will solve long-running problems caused by parked cars on the housing estate.
He said residents had repeatedly complained about Airedale Hospital staff and visitors parking vehicles indiscriminately.
Police staged regular patrols earlier this year in response to the concerns, and threatened to issue fixed penalties if parked vehicles were causing an obstruction.
Coun Mallinson said the waiting restrictions would give police more power to combat the problem because drivers would in future be breaking the law rather than simply causing a nuisance.
Bradford Council last week advertised the plans to impose waiting restrictions in parts of Thornhill Road, Currer Walk and Gamel View.
Coun Mallinson said Keighley Area Committee, part of the council, had earmarked £15,000 for the measures. There has been consultation with residents, and he has arranged site meetings to investigate the main problem areas.
He added: “Combining all the issues people have brought forward, I think the highways engineers have come up with a really good scheme.”
