A man has been arrested on suspicion of stealing a vehicle from outside a house in Wheatlands Lane, Cross Hills, on Friday.
Owners of a red Suzuki Jimny heard it being driven away in the early hours.
The car keys had been taken from inside the house, along with a wallet, two games consoles and a black Toshiba laptop.
The Suzuki was recovered at about 3.30am. The suspect from Bradford, who made off on foot, was arrested by officers from the Firearms Support Unit, who gave chase.
Police enquiries are ongoing and the suspect remains in custody.
