The chairman of the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway was re-elected to his post at the attraction’s latest annual meeting.
Dr Matt Stroh said he was pleased to remain on the footplate to help take forward the planned improvements included in the railway’s development plan.
This strategy is designed to give visitors more access to steam engines in Haworth, further open up the railway shed in Oxenhope and turn the lower level of the water tower at Keighley station into a visitor centre for young people.
Dr Stroh said Saturday’s AGM saw co-directors, David Pearson and Alistair Falvey, step down from their positions due to work commitments. Finance director, Ian Mitchell, also stepped down after completing three years in this post.
Dr Stroh thanked the trio for their contributions, and said they would all be missed.
He added the railway’s volunteers are currently looking forward to staging their Autumn Steam Spectacular, on the weekend of October 11 to 13.
This will include a visit from three locomotives that have all operated on the Great Western Railway. There will also be demonstration journeys by a steam freight train to give people an insight into the K&WVR’s original, industrial purpose.
